W203 C220cdi whining diff

I have a mate with an 02 C220 cdi which has a whining diff, when he bought it, it had a diff oil leak so he replaced all the seals.. However over time it's started to whine badly....

So does he just replace the diff, complete axle (from a breakers) or what??

Just replace the diff complete with casing. I'd replace the diff bushes while you're at it.

How many miles are recorded? How many has it actually done?
