W203 Folding mirror clicks when folding....

The Mrs' W203 Coupe passenger fold mirror clicks when folding in and out, anyone know the cause of this?? Cheers...

It's probably time to get the grease gun out!

My door mirrors make a noise when folding in too, and lubrication (or rather lack of) is sure to be the cause.

Mine tend to creak and squeak if I don't give them a squirt of PTFE powder spray around the gear area and along the outer rubber seal lip. Available from Halfords in the bike dept. It's used for chains and gear lubrication

Don't use grease / vaseline as these will attract grit and increase wear.

This is def more than a creak, it clicks loudly and folds in jerky start/stop way....Car has MB factory warranty though until december so its going into Mercedes Brooklands for as much as i can think of needs doing!! haha

Yes - good idea. I didn't actually mean cake the thing in axle grease - I meant that more as a figure of speech!
