- Mercedes C240 Avantgarde Auto W203
Hi - I am very new to this so aplogise in advance if there is already a thread with the information I need but I did search and cannot find anything about W203 Hydro Control Unit.
I have a 2003 registered W203 C240 Auto Avantgarde saloon (with 79000 miles and FSH) that has developed an annoying gearbox issue where sometimes when pulling to a complete halt and pulling away again (like at traffic lights or a roundabout) the gearbox decides to pull away very slowly and go into first gear and not change up any further (whether the gearbox is in W or S mode). However switching the engine off and restarting the car cures the issue temporarily.
I have taken it to Mercedes and they have diagnosed the issue as the car needing a new 'Hydro Control Unit' (which I am told is a PCB that sits in the gearbox oil). The problem I have is their cost to fix it as it seems to be extremely high. Does anyone know of any reputable places in the Nottingham/Derby area that could do the job for a reasonable cost?
Having been made redundant 5 months ago this is not good news for me.
If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
