The change up from 1st. to 2nd. on the autobox on my W203 C320 is very jerky once the engine has warmed up. To avoid this I am using winter mode most of the time so as to miss out 1st gear.
Do you think a change of auto-fluid and a check out at a MB workshop might help?

I honestly do not know.

But other have suggested on this forum the resetting the auto transmission memory (you will have to search for it here somewhere).

Also, there has been a known manufacturing issues with certain radiators: the (Valeo brand?) radiator also cools the transmission oil - but failure of the radiator internals results in water entering the gearbox with predictable consequences (jerky shifts=new gearbox), and DaimlerChrysler may not want to know even if you have a full MB history. Search this forum for more info.

Get the transmission fluid changed. Thats's the most likely cause if this IMO. My fluid was changed and the changes are now as smooth as silk.

Changing the fluid helped - though don't expect the results directly - it takes a few days .
I have got to be honest and say that this is not the smoothest box in the world (but I have only had manual boxes for the past 20 years- there are times when I want the box to hold on to a high gear (my car is a CDI) , but with large throttle openings , to make good use of the torque - but the thing changes down , and revs to hell . It is a shame that the Tip function won't allow you to force an upchange .

The MAF sensor going will also cause harsh changes but normally irregularly and very hard.
