I've struggled to find LED lights that I can retrofit for the Bau15s type bulbs on my W203 C class. The ones I did find were just not powerful enough

Anyway, finally found some 7.5watt lights which are about double the power of the ones I tried before, but they are pricey:

eg: Bau15s 581 PY21W 7.5W High Power Car Turn Signal Bulb Amber+ Resistor No Error | eBay

any thoughts? they ship with pair of 25w 8 Ohm resistors with the bulbs to solve an error message problem if that means anything to you. not exactly sure what I need to do, where best to place the resistors as they get quite hot it seems...

Cutting wires and fitting resistors just to fit new bulbs. Gets a no from me.

Why mess around with cutting wires?. Which could lead to electrical problems sometime in the future. Also what is the bulb quality like?. Another chance of problems arising.

Just forget these I say......

Not a good idea, as you can see from the photo those resistors have a large heat sink built into them to dissipate the heat, where is that going to go?

exactly! that's my question. I know I don't NEED to change over to LED, but the car is a 2004 reg (pre-facelift) and looking a tad dated. Was thinking I could spend a little to pimp it up a notch, to give it a bit of a 2012 look. I know I'm shallow, but be honest we don't all own a merc for "practical" reasons. The badge & look counts

if of course it's potentially going to cause me problems/not a safe thing to do, then I'll forget it. But want to be sure that's the case before ditching the idea altogether

thanks

The resistor will get no hotter than the original bulb would.
I say go for it and let us know how it goes.

Look for the thread on here started by chelle - she's done this recently.
