W203 Luggage Cover

Hi guys,

Took delivery of my 2004 C200 Kompressor Avantgarde SE yesterday and loving it. There are some minor problems which I expect on a second hand car but I will slowly get round to fixing them.

The first one though is that the luggage cover catch seems to stick or is broken. Can I get a replacement for this or is there an easy fix?

Depends what you mean by 'stuck or broken'. The catch on these is just a simple push down so that the lug is no longer held, and then the spring in the roller retracts it. The blind is part of the rear beam/luggage net, but I'm not sure how much this disassembles into individual parts.

Its the catch that is broken - you can push down but it wont release.

Bit of a pain and if it doesnt costs an arm or a leg then I am quite happy to buy a new one (wouldnt know where to start to look though as I believe MB dealers are over priced).

These were a nightmare on the 124's and impossible to fix so they say, just because no one has ever fixed one that does not mean that it is not possible

The W203 ones always break, the mechanism is flimsy to say the least..
usually one side breaks so only one side is holding..

I have not managed to repair one properly yet...
