Hi, i have a c270cdi with the sports package which im lead to believe is lowered from the factory? If been looking at getting a set of lowering springs for the car with lower it approx 30mm however if the sports package already lowers the car is this pointless as might not make much difference? Thanks

I think the sport is about 15mm lower than standard (not sure but its about that) so you should get another 15mm with your new springs,
i'm in the same boat, i'm having some 40mm springs fitted to my clk next week and being an avantgarde its already lower than standard but i hope to get another 25mm:cool:

Think im best off doing the same as you and finding some -40mm ones, what make did you go for?

I went for spax springs mate, all the cars i've lowered in the past (and thats a few!) i've always used eibach, which are very good but they only lower 30mm, at least with 40mm you'll notice it!
i'm gettinem fitted hopefully this week so i'll keep ya informed:thumb:

Sorry to cut in here mate,

Ive used Spax springs and lowering kits before, they can make the ride pretty harsh. The best compramise that I have found for functionality is Eibach as they are like OEM springs but uprated and lowered. They stiffen the cars handling up but not at a comprimise of comfort.

Sorry to interupt

Hope this helps.

No probs mate, well i've got the spax springs now so i'm gonna give em a go, as i said i've used eibach before and thought they were very good but they only lower 30mm i want just a tad more (although i think eibach do a "sportline" range which lower 45mm) and besides...i got the spax springs for less than half price on ebay:D
i do like a firm ride though:thumb:

Cheers for the advice guys, Bignak if you could let me know what the ride is like once lowered that would be great. what size rims are you running on yours? thanks

18" with 40 profile tyres, will let ya know as soon as i get em fitted,

All the best
John
