Wonder if anyone can offer some advice on my dilemma. I am just about to change my rear tyres. The car, a C180K "Sport" was delivered with Continental SP2 245x40x17 91W but I have been offered a terrific deal on equivalent Michelin Pilot Sports. Would the car look naf with different tyres front and back, what are Michelins like for noise, wear and all round traction?

I have the Michelins (all round) and am very impressed with the level of grip, both dry and wet. Noise is acceptable, wear is still to be assessed but seems slightly greater than my previous Michelins (Pilot Primacy). Grip and wear tend to go hand in hand..

Not sure I would mix different types fron / rear. The different handling characteristics could unbalance the car.

I have just fitted Falken FK452 tyres to the rear of my C270 (sport) on the recommendations of others on this forum....cost me £73 each from Camskill

They deliver next day and you will then need to get them fitted....most tyre fitters will charge £10 - £15 for fitting.

So far I have been pleased with my purchase...they appear quieter and smoother than the Conti sports they replaced and they seem to handle well...They have the advantage of bing about half the price too...

No problem with different tyres on different axles (don't think this affects handling significantly) although I would always make sure that each axle has matching tyres.

Have not tried the michelins yet. They're on my short list along with the conti SC3 I'VE already tried (and loved). Running Goodyears F1's at the moment and not too pleased.
