I'm looking to px my 2006 C220CDI Estate, W203 facelift. Low miles at 42K and excellent condition. I've looked at WBAC.com and they're offering £6400, MB Used Retail have an online price guide for px which is £6800-6400 for my car.
I'm looking at a couple of 2010 CLS Grand Edition's in the £17.5k region and struggling to achieve even the bottom end of the above px figure. I was hoping to push it to a £10k cost to change, with a little bit of movement from the dealer.
Is it a timing thing i.e not the end of the month or quarter, or am I being unrealistic on how much profit the dealer has in the used CLS?

Not sure if I should just bite the bullet or hold off a few weeks or months.

I thought my car was very low mileage (late 2004, approaching 70K) but your's is incredibly low!

You're probably more familiar with CLS prices than I am, but £17.5K seems pretty good, which implies the dealer doesn't have a lot of room to move. I keep reading that there's still a shortage of good used cars so dealers don't want to give away stock that they have.

What sort of dealer are you looking to buy from? If it's an MB dealer than they may not want to retail your car due it's age, so they'll only get a trade or auction price for it. Could you sell privately? In many ways, your car (and mine :) ) are recognised as one of the best models MB have produced.

I wouldn't be too concerned about what you current car is worth, especially if you are considering trading it in. I'd more interested in how much it's going to cost to change. Thus, worthwhile shopping around different dealerships for a figure to drive away in a lovely CLS. Good hunting.

As above all that matters is the price to change, and you are more likely to get a better deal just before a month/quarter/year end.

If it helps any on rough value the 2007 C230 estate we bought in July was £8500 from a main dealer with Tier 1 etc. and similar mileage (43k).

Okay the deals done on the CLS. Great team at Mercedes Wakefield very customer focused, not too much BS.

My target was £10K to change, ended up at £10,185 plus admin fee of £79 and road tax of £280. Took a few iterations but I'm happy with the end result. I just need to go and view the car now:dk:

I've already got my eye on a set of winter wheels and have purchased a private plate.

Any recommends on having number plates made?

Congrats on the new car. Why not get the dealer to make up the private plate?
