Hi, has anyone else had this issue?

Recently my air con stopped working, I took in to my local garage and had the gas refilled. The air con worked fine at first and now works intermittently along with the engines cooling fan coming on at what I can only describe as warp speed!
It has been mentioned that the cars air con system needs to be reset. Is this true?

Could you have a birds nest or some other obstuction blocking your ac radiator

Following advice on here from one of our American cousins I found a site on u tube which detailed instructions on how to reset the aircon on my CL. I had same problem as you, charged up but not working and not taking full charge, reset then charged fully and now working perfectly.

It involved pressing two buttons at the same time and holding them on for 5 seconds, it goes into diagnostic mode and gives fault codes and lists all the parameters of your system. Pressure, outside temp, temp in rad, very comprehensive. Also instructions on how to reset system.

Try a search for your car you may find a solution, I guess MB would have similar resets on MB aircon through all the ranges.

Yep, I’ve seen those posts but none of them relate to the 2010 w204. I’ve tried several combinations of buttons but with no luck.

I guess I’ll have to invest in an iCarsoft tool.

Thanks guys for the replies. [emoji1360]

you most likely have an intermittent fault with the refrigerant pressure sensor or possibly its wiring.
either way, any half decent (not an OBD jobbie) diagnostic tool should reveal.
even if these don't log an error, if the AC refrigerant pressure reads under 4bar or over 30bar, theres an issue.
