w204 220 cdi smoke

Hi everyone
I recently bought a 220 cdi sport 39000 miles-has an issue when cold-starts fine but after about 30 secs gets a bit lumpy revs unstable but settles as it warms up-more worryingly when i removed the oil filler cap-engine running-there is pressure and white smoke puffing out-dealer(not mb)reckons this is normal-I dont any advice much appreciated

my c220 also smoke when I pressed down to overtake,is this normal on a Merc diesel?

If you floor a diesel you will get smoke they are not like petrol cars although it shouldn't be an awful lot.. If it is get some additives in the fuel tank to clean it up

Cheers Simzy,another thing I wanted to know was how fast must you be going to use the minus shift on the gear lever.Another question is what are the 4 hooks on the side of the passenger well,is it for a net,and where can I get one?

I don't about that i dont have an auto but I would imagine you cannot be revving to high in higher gear and still be able to switch down but I could be wrong... The net is available on eBay
