Driving this morning fine then all of a sudden I have lost power brakes, any ideas welcome. Checked for hoses that might have come off and nothing

pedal is rock hard to press, like you have lost vacuum to the servo, got chance to look tonight and found some oil sprayed on the bulkhead and dripping onto the tranny from a circular metal housing on the back of the engine right up the top, this has the hose connected to it from the servo but i have no idea what this is???

I'm guessing this is the engine driven vacuum pump [ Diesels don't produce any inlet manifold vacuum] but I am unsure where exactly it attaches to the engine? A PICTURE WOULD HELP?

i think you are correct about the pump, i do have a petrol not diesel but just googled it and that is it

Thanks

took the vacuum pump off today to find both dog teeth broken off and the part of the pump housing that slides in the engine split in two.

Definitely broke i think
