Hi guys,

Planning to get a remap. But after searching for a long time, haven't been able to locate any answers to my questions. I can understand the benefits but there are some key questions not answered on the web

1) will it learn my driving style. So from stock, I believe the car learns my driving style on the different modes, and adjusts accordingly. I think it's a good feature. Would I loose this feature after a map ?

2) will I still have an e,s and m mode. Where e will be economical and s will be sportier. Or will all modes be sports mode, as I am after a performance map. What I want if possible is to have a map done where e is more economical and s is for a performance map. Don't know if this can be done, or will this vary on the person who maps the car ?

3) finally is my mpg still accurate on my trip computer.

Thanks in advance

1. Car will have all the same features. So if it adapted to your driving style before, it will continue to that.

2. You will still have all the driving modes as before, but they would have slightly changed in character due to having more power.

3. Mix of views on this one, but I think the accuracy will stay the same as the computer is monitoring fuel used for distance covered.

Thanks litcan, so question one actually will link to question two. Where e is for everyday driving and it'll learn that, and s will be for spirited driving in which it will learn that. So it will depend upon how I drive after the map ?
Not sure if you know the answer, but with regards to a remap. Do they change the input of fuel and air to change the performance ? And the rest of the ecu isn't affect. Therefore the stock features (learning driving style. Different modes) won't be affected ?

I'm not sure how the adaptive system and the mode systems work, but I think they are more or less based around the gearbox and gear changes.

Personally, the adaptive system annoys me, as I tend to adapt to the car and not the other way round, as when you do something which is out of your habit, the car doesn't behave as you would expect it to.

I'm no tuner, but many remaps are based on air, fuel and boost values (if turbo is present). They are all usually increased. Your adaptive system will most probably be flashed/reset and will re-adapt to your driving style as you go along, although I'm sure it just re-adapts all of the time.

Research the remaps on the 250cdi engine, I've seen a few threads on other forums with problems. The common issue was that the car would not accept the increased power values and would get into limp mode to preserve itself.

These use the dephi ecu, which is a torque bias ecu, these are more tricky to set up than the bosch and if not done correctly with put a torque caulation fault in the ecu, been there and done that, must of done 100+ of these ecus, over the years. Take website figures with a pinch of salt, the C250 normally sees between 30-50 bhp gain, each car varies, choose a company your happy with, ask for a diagnosis check before and after, and if possible a dyno run,
