For any W204 estate owners [ and maybe saloons too??] here thinking of getting a full size spare wheel I can confirm today that the spare wheel well of the latest estate model [ complete with stop start system] is big enough to fit a full size spare wheel and allow the polystyrene tool tray and compartment cover to lie in their intended position. 
the wheel in question being a 7Jx16 ET43 R16 wheel fitted with a 205/55R16 TYRE. Any wheel wider than 7J - say on a sports model would be too wide I believe ----although if you lost the tool tray ----??
