So my w204 got a knock to the front drivers side before I purchased it and fixed by previous owner. The car now is very hard to steer in a straight line and you feel as though you have to do a lot of steering to keep it in a straight line. When you pull the steering wheel in one direction it does not self centre. I take it it should go back to the centre itself? Also what would cause this? Could the steering rack be damaged?

It's still bent. No point in trying to guess which component, get a full geometry check done (i. e. a four wheel check) and take it from there.

How much steering yaw are you talking? Is this a correctional line or turn.
