I have a CTEK MXS 5.0, and would like to use it on my father's W205 - C-Class Saloon.
Is it possible to use a trickle charger on the jump start points shown below?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, most people charge using the jump start points rather than accessing the battery terminals.

Thanks, I've just connected up the CTEK, green light comes on, but just enters power-save/standby mode after a few minutes - almost like it cannot detect a battery to charge...

I have my car on charge at the moment. Connected the CTEC via the jump post and the terminal under the red flap. Selected AGM and car battery setting. All fine takes a few hours before it reaches the green battery icon for fully charged and checked. This is stage 7 from memory. Not sure why yours does not go through the stages. Hopefully someone will be able to give some help.

Correct setting ? AGM / Standard etc?

I know the picture you posted shows the battery position for a LHD car but the two connection points are still the brassed stub for the black cable and the metal bracket under the red flap for the red cable. Connect black last when installing and remove first when removing the charger. When the two clips are connected plug the battery charger in and turn on. Press the green button to select the car icon and AGM By repeatedly pressing the button to obtain these settings. You should now have the second and third LEDs lit up on the 4 Charge settings. After a few seconds the orange charge lights will come on, from experience 1 and 2 light up fairly quickly. Stages 3 & 4 onwards take longer according to the battery’s charge. Stage 7 fully changed may take several hours to achieve.

The error lamp at the top left of the charger will come on if the charger wires are not correctly connected, if you have the motorcycle icon illuminated and not the car. The other reason for this light is that your battery may need to be replaced. Cost for battery without fitting £160 online, a lot more from a dealer.

Positive terminals sitting under protective flap has two metal pins, you should check with a multimeter which one has constant power and attach CTEK connector to this pin.
Negative connects to one of the brass connectors as earth.

Once again, I'm glad my battery is inside, under the driver's footwell floor, and as easy to access as the brake pedal :p
