W205 which engine???

I'm really pleased with my C200 petrol S205.

Putting it into Sport+ provides enough entertainment for me. Anything more powerful and I seriously risk losing my licence!

Best thing to do is test drive to get a better feel if there's enough power for you.

Don't forget that the C200 petrol is more powerful (bhp) than the C220d and costs £1,500 less!

I got a quote on the C220d and the C200 AMG Line Estate.

List prices you are looking at £35,570.00 for the 220 and £33,985.00 for the C200.
After discount it was £32,821.61 for the Prem Plus 220d and £30,298.41 for the C200.

The interesting thing was after 48 months and 48k miles the residuals were set the same, both set at £14000, that made the diesel £414 a month and the petrol £353 a month.

For me doing 12k miles a year, that means the diesel is costing £110 a month, the petrol is costing £140 a month. That is presuming the diesel gets 1/3 better at approx. 45mpg over the petrol. So for me doing 12k miles a year the petrol is the cheaper option, even doing 18k miles a year they cost the same.

You have got to really love diesel to choose it over the petrol.

Here is a quote from an Australian Mag Mercedes-Benz C200 new car review

But the C200 doesn't feel as though it lacks for much in everyday driving. While it generates a modest 135kW at 5500rpm, it produces its maximum pulling power of 300Nm from between 1200-4000rpm, which makes for effortless performance in any environment – whether it is scrambling through the urban jungle or long-distance cruising on the freeways.

The engine revs smoothly and quietly with minimal turbo lag at low revs and through its mid range and only starts to feel a little wheezy and sound a bit rowdy as it approaches its red line.
The silky seven-speed automatic is mated perfectly with smooth shifts and well-spaced ratios, offering both spritely acceleration away from the lights and economical high-speed cruising.

Thanks Guys, tempted by the coupe now.

Apparently the 250d coupe comes with the 9 speed gearbox

E-class has 9 speed already.

How about a C350e?
Or a C450AMG?

Both would match a 335BMW in the real world for poke.
