Would anyone care to share some step by step instructions for removing the drivers door card so I can check there is enough lubrication in the tracks the window mech slides in, the window is very slow to lower and rise and seems to be struggling, I think there is lack of greese or dirt in there.

Car in question. T Reg, 1999 CLK 230 Kompressor Elegance Auto Coupe (no lights on mirrors, cloth interior).

Thanks in advance.

carefully ease out the SRS badge and remove the the large crosshead screw underneath.
prise off the plastic outer shell on the interior door pull - be prepared to sacrifice a fingernail or two. Remove the large crosshead screw beneath.
That's the two main screws removed.
Remove the chrome plate above the door catch (3 screws?).
Remove the 'U'-shaped plastic trim around the door catch (1 screw).
Ease off the triangular plastic grille over the tweeter.
Use you fingers to prise the bottom of the door card away from the door bit by bit. It will pop as you ease out the plastic studs - there's about six or so along the bottom edge of the door card and up the sides.
The door card is now free and you can carefully lift it to unhook the top trim from along the window slot and to clear the door lock pin.
Once the door card is free, pull it away slightly and undo the wiring connector to the door control module.
The door release cable can be disconnected from the release lever by pulling the cable outer back from the housing to slacken the cable. The cable end then unhooks from the release lever.

I've just had my drivers side window smashed in by some utter :mad::wallbash::crazy: last night. This here post should come in handy now, thanks! :thumb:
