W209 Command/bluetooth audio question

Hi All,
We've just upgraded to a 2007 200k CLK (which is a W209 yeah?) and it has Comand, HK audio and bluetooth.

From the reading around I've done, and there are so many articles on this it's made my head hurt, what option do I have to get bluetooth audio streaming working with an iphone 5s?

I've paired my phone with the car and phone function works a treat, just not sure what to do next....

I was going to have a look in the engineering menu tonight but aside from that I think my options are:
- use an aux in if there is one
- buy some kind of MB iphone kit and an adapter to allow my to connect my 5s (I have some of these in the house anyway)
- swap the unit out for a NGS 2.5? (assuming I have a 2 right now)

is that about the shape of it?

Cheers, Chris.

What is your budget?
Solutions from a few quid (adequate) to several hundred (full integration).

Full control would be my preference as that's what we had in our old C class (with a pioneer head unit and a little box to manage the steering wheel buttons) but I'd like to keep it OEM this time of poss. But as we've just paid out for the new motor I'll happily consider cheaper options :)

For the full monty which is certainly the best solution, I would talk to these guys who have never had a bad review.
If you let them know you are a forum member, they may even offer a discount.
Budget for £350-£500.

Right at the other end of the market, you can get a cable to plug into the socket in the glovebox at a couple of quid. Not really an elegant solution and the volume can be low.

For just a couple of quid more you can get a bluetooth receiver that plugs into the socket. This is more elegant and provides a power boost such that the audio levels are the same as the rest of the inputs to the comand unit. Although these have a rechargeable battery, you will need to sort out a charging arrangement (simply done)

Personally, I have this which can as well as streaming music can also make calls/do voice commands and I have it wired up pretty much invisibly.
I don't use it to do calls anymore as I have installed the phone adapter in the armrest and that is a better solution.
The above 'budget' solutions only give you volume from the steering wheel button, the first is full integration.

Thanks Ted, Alfie.

I did read something about enabling BT streaming from the engineering menus, does that only apply to NTG2.5??

Alfie, Do you guys offer discount to forum members? :)

ok. let's assume I'm not bothered about bluetooth streaming as I'd like to connect my phone via cable so it will charge. Would the MB ipod kit do the job? (which I see you guys at Command also sell). Has anyone tested these with an Iphone with a lightning connector via an adapter? (I assume it has the old 30pin connector on)

Yes, it works with the genuine apple adapter. They do a short lead one, as well as a "block" - the short lead one works well as the apple lead is nice and flexible

Ok cool. One last question... Was anyone seen any reasonably priced docks that will sit in the pop out cup holder? And would I be able to cable to it??
Seems like a neater solution to pop the cup holder open and dock my phone rather than having it in the glovebox or a cable hanging about the place...
