W209 roof problem

Hi all.
I have a slight intermittent fault with my roof and wondered if anyone can help
Occasionally when I operate the roof it unlatches from the front and the back bit just starts to raise then it gets stuck. If I give the backl bit in front of the boot a few presses then it continues to open and might open and close perfectly for the rest of the day. But then all of a sudden it will get stuck again. It never fails to close it just struggles to open sometimes.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Before getting too technical, clean every moving part and locating pin etc, then put some white lithium grease on them.
Dont forget the hinges for the hood cover - you will need to pull off the plastic covers.
Check every mating part and clean/lubricate.
The grease can harden over time and cause hood opening/closing issues.

Does it get stuck before unlatching from the panel near the boot? I tend to get this if the roof has not been opened over winter. I find nudging the gap between the panel and the boot releases it and then it works fine.
