W210 air con in op

Apologies again as have no search function and this has probably been answered.
2002 e320cdi. Got air con regassed this morning. But also noticed while ot was being done that the compressor clutch isn't working - so I have no air con she has manual air con with knows. The EC button works, well the light cones on! I'm hoping it's not the compressor and hopefully just relay or switch, but where us the relay located? And is there any common faults I should be looking for. I've only had the car a month so Unsure if wasn't working for long time, I just hoped it was low gas!

The EC light needs to go off for the air con to be ON

Yeah figured that. Problem is the clutch on compressor doesn't seem to be engaging ie. It's just free spinning. Was wondering if there was a relay that may have failed before the compressor unit.

Get the AC codes read. This will help with diagnosis.

Wow didn't know could get air con read by computer! Will give it a go.

STAR will read all fault codes. If it was the auto climate control (digital) version, it can read it's own fault codes.

Got a code read this morning - B1416 - circulation pump. Is this referring to the air con compressor?
