W210 Battery location

I dont like people to think I'm stoopid but how do I find the battery on my 2000 w210 cdi saloon. The handbook says and I quote " the battery is located in the right hand recess of the boot" Err sorry but its not, either that or its very small. I have just had the entire boot cleared out, carpets, tyres etc. to remove the rear bumper to fit a towbar and there is diddly squat in there that even resembles a hole to put a battery in. It might be hidden under the bonnet but I dont think so, so can you brainiacs out there tell me where to locate it?

In mine it's under the rear right hand passenger seat, but mine's an estate so it might be different...

The battery will be located under the rear seat, it took me a while it find it at first.

Check for rust around where the vent pipe goes through the floor.

Thanks for all that, I can see it under the car now, the next thing is removing the seat, I see what looks like a white plastic pin by the door at the bottom of the seat cushion, I guess that slides across and the seat comes off?? Haven't tried it yet though.

There is a clip on both corners of the seat.
They push upwards.
