Info please, as placed a wanted add for my W210 E320cdi avantgarde 2000 V plate estate, temperature sensor.

Been told its the one which fits into the block.

Problem
Engine cranks for an age before firing up (only in morning and worse in cold mornings) rest of time starts on button.
New battery, glow plugs fitted, fault codes cleared, been told diesel glow plugs not being allowed sufficient time to heat up sufficiently.
Spare relays tried, glow plugs timed and only heat up for no more than 4-5 seconds then off on three different relays.

Been told its probably the engine temperatur sensor?/ Comments please, where do I find it and is it an easy source/fit. :)

Are they sure its the temperature sensor?

Sounds more like air leaking into the fuel lines overnight.

Does it get better if you park pointing down hill? Can you see air bubbles in the clear fuel lines under the bonnet?

Air in the fuel lines has got to be the most common starting problem on these cars by a mile!

A Cdi of that vintage doesn't need glowplugs at all, it will be an air leak or an injector leaking off too much.

+2.

Mine starts immediately from cold.

However I did get the plastic pipes replaced in November because of air in the lines.
