W210 estate?

You could probably stretch to a W210 E55 estate too......:devil:

Whilst I'm happy with our e240 I do agree with previous posters that it is heavy on fuel. Mixed driving would see 25/26mpg and I'd reckon that an e55 driven the same way would turn in similar figures. Of course if you press the enjoyment pedal then that's another matter.

W210 E55 AMG are great, especially the facelift, I love them, very solid cars! Only thing that let's them down is the paint work!

Contemplating an e320 cdi w210 myself at the moment - test drove one the other day which was a little rough around the edges body wise

only 82k and turbo had been replaced 5k miles ago. on test drive. there was an audible "clunk" coming from what felt like the rear end which worried me and it stuck in gear and wouldn't shift up or down even using tiptronic until i turned it off and back on again :(

I am hopefully going to view another on Tuesday - it has 144k but is a 2003 (april) model with the fresher wheels and seems to have a well documented service history - and a brucy bonus of all black leather - hope this one proves more fruitful

on a secondary note, is there a mileage that the injectors tend to give way or is it just pot luck ?

I am tempted by the E55 but the fuel costs put me off, and I would rather go for the C32 as they seem to better on fuel and have a similar power output, my other way of looking at this is I get a W210 320cdi, to replace the cls and then get a C36 saloon (sub £3000) for hooning around in, but I am then back to having 2 cars again :dk:

Fair enough if you don't need the space of the E-class.You may well find the W203 costs more to maintain and repair, though; the W210 seems to have been the last Mercedes not to have too much complication for its own good, and there's more to go (expensively)wrong on the later models.
