last night - turned on lights - dead bulb warning - 2 miles later got stopped by plod doing roadside checks - 4 of them in a small town on friday evening at 8pm - i know strictly a bulb out is stoppable - but you would think they had better things to do wouldnt you - specially as when a cpl of weeks back some thug threw a beer bottle through my daughters side window   - no plodding interest !!!
Anyway - today got new buld - reason for the post other than to bleet is manual says pull bulb holder out and remove bulb - doesnt pull out - tried twisting pulling and levering - obviously not too hard dont want to break lamp do i - any one experience - had it a year never changed a side light thks in advance

I seem to remember you have to twist it to a certain position, I broke mine removing it but the plastic holder was very brittle, I bought a new one [£12], looking at the new one thinking yours will still be the same there are two little plastic lugs protruding on the external part the bulb sits in, so you must have to twist it to a certain position before it come out, ie maybe a quarter of a turn to left maybe, or coulod it be to the right can't remember. my part number is A210 826 05 82

thanks brian - tried that - cant get it to budge - will turn approx 5 deg and thats it - confused - changing this should be a breeze

Like an ordinary light bulb the lead base does get worn and sticks. Keep trying gently and moving left and right and it will come out, just be gentle and the bulb will not break.

Look at the new one and you will see how it fits.

nearside sidelight - easier to get to than off side but still cant get the damn thing out

Can you get a small pair of pliers on the holder to wriggle it out? They are usually tight but with turning and pulling it must come.

resorted to trying the other side - push twist out - easy - one i need to take out - no budge !!!!!!
now of course have the problem of getting offside light cover back on as well - and we now have the first rainy day for ages - great eh :(

At least you know it works, but corrosion is holding it. More effort needed eh? Go on it WILL COME OUT. :D

As a last resort try spraying it with WD 40 to release it.

Changed 1 on mine a couple of weeks ago (drivers side).
What a bugger to get out, but it did come in the end.
Nearly £5 for a sidelight bulb too  (Halogen)

:bannana: mission accomplished - time taken to change one £4 bulb - 2.5 hrs - nothing like a nice easy job on a sunday morning eh !! :D eventuaaly budged it with an open ended spanner - just as well holder has flats on eh
