Please.

I am adjusting the front wheel bearings. The usual method is to slacken of the allen bolt and then adjust the retaining nut finger tight.

What is finger tight? Is it until a light touch tightens the nut or a reasonably firm twist?

Thanks.

Thanks CLKSPY

But, do I grab it with my thumb and fore finger and tighten, or finger tips? With the latter it goes so far, with the former it can go further.

just tighten up as far as you can by hand , then turn a bit more with a spanner, or just tap aroung with a hammer and a screwdriver ,so its just tight enough, that can not undo by hand, then do bolt up tight

Hi,
When i did mine i tightened the retaining nut up till it started to bind and then loosened the nut off slowly till the hub rotated freely, and pinched up the allen bolt.

thing is to tighten enough, just so the wheel can move freely, but not to loose , because this hold your hub on,

If you had wheel/bearings out you want to tighten it harder then by hand to make your bearing to re-seat. After that turn back 1/4-1/2 a turn and check for play and if your wheel spin freely.

You should be able to just move the washer under the clamp bolt sideways.

It mentions the washer in my little Russek manual but my 210 hasn't got any :dk:
