W210 Window problem

On my W210 the Drivers Window is acting up. It goes up and down in stages, it did that before for a bit and then stopped but now its like that all the time.
Wondering if that is the reg on the way out or maybe its being caused by wind deflectors altho i dont see how that can be...

Any input is appreciated

Have you tried swapping the switch for one of the other electric window switches just to be sure you arent getting a bad switch contact. Would be my 1st port of call.

Hi,
It sounds like the window just needs to be reset, run the window all the way down to the bottom of its run hold the switch down for a couple of seconds, then run the window back up to the top and hold the switch down again for a couple of seconds. This should restore the one touch window function. If the car loses this function again and you havent had the car battery disconnected, it will probably be the door control module at fault.

This can,t be done as the window switches are not separate items, the switches are part of an assembly.

Well in that case no fun. Your idea about resetting the switches is a good though.

If you mean it goes up a little at a time then (as above) it may just need resetting. It can go all the way up or down, by very gently pushing the switch a small amount (rather than poke it in the eye as you usually would).

Lordlee had a window problem on my vito replaled window switchs, cables and it was still acting up greased the runners putit all back togerther all works fine now

Doesnt matter if you are rough on the switch or not, today it was fine for a few mins then went up and went down on its own so maybe dirty runner. Will reset window in the morning
