W211 '07 E320cdi V6 Turbo Problem

Hi Folks.

This is my first post. I have used the site for years as a valuable resource but for the latest problem I feel I need to post.

Ive had the car 5 years and has been very reliable. 65k miles. I noticed it was a little underpowered last week. Boost but not the usual surge in kickdown im used to. The next time I drove it there was no boost at all. No CEL or limp mode. I removed the egr valve. It was clear. My VW mechanic mate checked the actuator was moving correctly on start up and when revving. It was. He suggested I give it a good run. The mrs uses the car mainly to go to work and back. 2 miles each way. After a good run I used his odb2 code checker which said p0299 turbo underboost. Cleared it. The car then ran better with some boost but nothing like it should. Can anyone suggest my next course of action and maybe the best indy in Manchester. Ive heard benztech in Golborne are good. Any advice 8s much appreciated thanks.

It took your advice today Tricky.

I took the car down this afternoon after a quick phone call, although it seemed busy they took it straight in, had it diagnosed and repaired within half an hour and it is now pulling better than ever. The cost was also very reasonable and much less than what I was expecting. Thanks for the recommendation, Ill certainly be going there in future. I even got coffee and biscuits!

Just stumbled across this thread, i have similar problem could you please let us know what was the diagnosis and how much it cost to rectify it
