I had a problem in the summer with my 7 year old E200k with 4-zone thermatic: when it was hot outside, the aircon was blowing nicely cooled air at the front but heated (not just warm) air to the back. The dealer charged me a huge amount to replace the "shut-off valve for heater core" (as this involved removing the brake unit) and the problem seemed to be fixed. Now winter is here I find the car is blowing hot air through the front side and rear vents, but cooled air through the front centre vents. A local mechanic with access to necessary computer has checked the car, but cannot find anything wrong. I'm reluctant to go back to the dealer again, until I know what the problem is. Can anyone help?
