Hi. I have recently bought a 2007 E63 which has the following in the arm rest.
1FFFCA4C-38AE-43CF-BC45-16CA9A960CB3-7963-00000B9E0ED51F09.jpg

It has a slot for a SIM card but is also Bluetooth. I have tried to pair it following instructions found on YouTube (can't find anything in the manuals).

Problem is, I can't get my phone to find it when it's scanning for Bluetooth.

What am I doing wrong? Can it work without a SIM card inserted?

Thanks

Its a SAP module (as it has the SIM slot). When the SIM is in, the bluetooth is off. Your phone needs to support rSAP protocol for it to work, and given its a SAP Type 1 cradle that bascially means Nokias although some newer phones work.

You have to hold down the Star button for quite a while to make it go into pairing mode

Ok, thanks. So I guess that means it won't work with an I phone 4s?

If so, what are my options to get the I phone paired?

I bought a HFP Bluetooth module for my W211 and that worked fine with my iPhone 4.

Try VISEEO. I fitted one to my W211 E class and it works well.

Yes, that cradle won't work with the iPhone 4.

You need one of 3 cradles
Mercedes HFP
ViseeO MB-4
Mercedes iPhone 4/4S cradle

All have the pros and cons, talk to [email protected] - Alfie will help you work out which is best for you

suggest you talk to COMAND online, as they have various options.

The key consideration is what are your expectations regarding accessibility of contacts, SMS etc. There are a number of possible options but they are not all equal.

Also what are your short-medium term plans phone wise?
