Hi all.
I have an 06 W211 E320 CDi with factory fitted Command (not the HD unit) where the single disk CD/DVD player is above the screen. ( It plays CDs/DVDs or MP3). My problem is that partway through playing a MP3 disk the unit stopped working. it now takes a disk and i can hear it trying to read it before it gives a simple message "DVD error". This error is the same no matter if a CD or DVD or MP3 encoded disk is inserted.
When the Audio button is pressed i have the option for Radio in usual Blue lettering and CD is greyed out.
is there a way to reset this unit or has it self terminated? All suggestions gratefully received.

Just pull the fuse for the unit out for a minute or so to reset it.

Would you happen to know which fuse might that be? Having opened the rear panel and looked in i see they are numbered 1-20 but there is no wiring diagram that i can find in any of the manuals that were supplied with the car

Hi. Not sure if yours is the same as mine, but the fuse for my Command is fore of the spare wheel, to the right. Its the 5amp one in the blue holder. Sorry ifs a wild goose chase though.

I think that you need to check fuse number #28 in the fusebox on the end of the dashboard drivers side. Open the door and you will see it.

You are correct, I pulled No28 in the drivers side dashboard panel, waited and replaced it. Everything working again. many thanks gentlemen for your help.

Back with the same problem again after 2 months. Once again i have "DVD error" when loading any CD/DVD/MP3 disk and this time pulling the fuse or trying to run a cleaning disk does not solve the problem. Does this mean the command head unit has given up the ghost? All suggestions welcome at this point.
