W211 E220 - "ESP inoperative see owners manual" + "run flat indicator inoperative"

I've had this happen 4 times on a w221 in 10 years. 2 times resetting the run flat made it go away. 1 time it was the an airmatic sensor plug at the valve body, last time it happened after a star induced brake fluid flush with RBF 600, and a reset of the system fixed it. But if what you say applies to both w220 and w222, I should also ask the indie or MB to change this brake switch. Is it located at the same end on w221? When I checked on the mb parts page, it was showing behind the steering column.
It’s under the steering column on the facelift W211’s , I’ve no idea on any other models buddy , sorry

Hi Everyone
Just registered to to thank everyone participated in this thread because it solved my car’s problem after running between different mechanics for 2 months.
Yesterday I was at one workshop and the replaced the Abs/Speed sensor for £110. Unfortunately, same message came again (run flat tyres indicator us inoperative, ESP, ABS not working, check owner manual). Also, cruise control doesn’t work and ABS stopped working. The mechanic said it must be an ABS pump which is very expensive. I decided to do my own research and ended up here. I really liked the idea of trying the break light switch because it is cheap and easy diy. Guess what??? It worked with me and the car is perfectly fine now. Guys, I am really grateful to you all. I rarely respond to these forums but you guys are so special! You have solved my problem. Thanks again everyone. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I’ve panicked and picked up a spare stop light switch for the glovebox . Got a Lucas one for £11 on eBay .
I realised it’s been about 11 years since I replaced the last one .

Your glove box has a stop light switch?? 🤔

I wish there was one on Mrs Spiky's glove box. It might avoid the avalanche of cr@p when you open it...3 pairs of gloves (ok, it's a glove box, but 3 pairs ffs), 74 car park tickets, 2 half eaten packets of Polos, 6 Moam Stripes wrappers, 1 USB cable (which doesn't fit her iPhone), 6 Mini Markies (we haven't had a dog for 3 years) and her insurance certificate. From 4 years ago.

All, thank you for the recommendation. I replaced the brake light switch and it fixed the problem. It is indeed a 5 min job.
Interestingly, ODB2 scanner did not find any error code, despite the ESP / RunFlat error was on display.

The switch I used was Febi replacement for A0015454409, costs £13 incl delivery.
