right my car has a jerk in 1st and 2nd gear, sometimes it gets worse sometimes not as bad

am i right in thinkin this is the rad problem

right what can i do, a new rad is 550 or something plus vat from dealers,

722.6 gearboxes do hold onto the lower gears when cold to warm up the CAT making the car a little jerky in the process.

If the oil has not been changed in the last 50k miles, then change it.

The glycol issue affects the 211 up to the 30-09-03
The symptoms here are a humming or vibration when pulling lightly at 1500- 2000 rpm, and it will do this all the time, even when hot

hi mate thanks for the reply, i was hoping u would help

my car is a 53 reg

had the gearbox oil checked a few weeks back, and it wasnt red it was more like greeny and dirty, just topped it up then as i think i had a leak

why would it be the wrong color?

also its like a jerk the whole car jerks between 15-approx 2500 rpm, most of the time but not all the time

Mine does the same sometimes. No real consistency as to when it will do it however the (debatable) throttle / gearbox reset seems to fix it as does just dropping it in winter mode. I think it can get confused at certain temperatures.

Sounds like a glycol problem (water in the oil) to me.........'greeny dirty oil' sounds worrying!....have a glycol test carried out at MB.

Mine the same, but being a 2003 three model would gave if it was the rad and glycol fault would have years ago with prev owners

All depends on mileage.
