Hi

Does anyone have the part number for the AMG III wheels that would have been a factory option on a W211 E500.

After I had a wheel replaced on my car after an accident earlier in the year, I always thought that the wheel looked wrong, even when I collected the car.

After a recent trip to the dealer, it has been identified that the wheel turns out to be an A230 part number which I believe is for an SL.

Also should the wheel be stamped AMG on the rear or another brand?

Many thanks

Tan

I might be getting the wrong end of the stick but cant you just took at your other wheel that is correct and get the numbers from that? They might only be size and offset but that might help?

I don't think there's an AMG stamp at the back, but the part number should start A211, because that would be your E-Class, not an SL.

Although, if the wheel has the same offset and width, then what's the problem? Is it a major difference in looks?

Might be worth considering that as AMG wheels are often used on more than one vehicle application, they could share part numbers with other models.

Eg - late W202 C43s, R170 SLKs, W208 CLK55s etc all used an identical AMG wheel setup (17" style I IIRC), and I think they all have a '170' part number.

Also - some part number supercede others.

Easiest way would be to check the wheel on the other side - the width and offset should be the same. AMG wheels were also made by more than one supplier - BBS, Ronal etc I believe.

In what way do they look different? :)

I doubt OEM E wheels would be the same as the SL .. the wheels on the SL are wider

The car is not with me at the moment, otherwise obviously I could have very easily gone and checked the other wheel.

The A230 wheel is 8.5Jx18, but I am sure that the original size for a 211 is 8Jx18.

Once I have the correct part number, then I can have the correct wheel ordered.

The tyre on the 8.5J is the same size as the otherside, but I am worried if it may have been stretched to fit on that 8.5J rim.

8j and 8.5j can have the same tyre size, check alloywheelsdirect for correct part number.
