W211 E55

I have to say it's worth a look.....I would imagine it may have been crashed at some point for that price....

What would the insurance be for that

Ian
1998 E55 with £670 for insurance

I bet it's a scam .. the guy has no ebay history. Too cheap at £19k and no interior pics

+1

They are indeed becoming more affordable, but that's probably £6-7k below the cheapest supercharged E55s

Hmm my thoughts too, either a scam or 'shurely shome mishtake' ;)

It'd certainly make an attractive buy otherwise.

Seems a genuine ad. and he knows the market price. He says he wants a market price and yet its up for £19,000. Perhaps a clever ruse to get you in interested and move you to get in touch. I expect it'll be £29,000

It LHD and I am not sure the E class will be a classic, but if it is real, quite a special car....

Again, insurance maybe an issue :-)

just did an rac check on the reg showing in the pic, they say its a S55 AMG

Vehicle Details
The summary vehicle description is supplied by the DVLA
for registration number S50OPS
Make
MERCEDES
Year of manufacture
2003
Model
S55 AMG A
Engine size(CC)
5430

Perhaps he's already bought an S55 and transferred the plate? Maybe it's cheap because he just wants shot of the old one?
It doesn't read like the usual scam. If I was allowed to buy another car I would be making enquiries ;)

Edit.. "I currently have a V5/2 logbook slip as its currently just coming off the cherished registration number shown in the pics and is going back to its original "03" plate"

That's why the car is different on the RAC site.

From the valuation site of the depreciation thread..
Mercedes-Benz E-Class E55 AMG
5.4 Petrol 4-door Saloon
5 Speed Automatic Rear Wheel Drive
Year: 2003 03
Mileage: 60,000
Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition:
£25500
Average condition:
£22750
Below average condition:
£20250

So maybe £19,000 is about right for a quick sale?

Maybe it's been sold?

Maybe it's been sold?

If its sold through ebay the listing remains - if it removed as it is dodgy or breaks their listing criteria it says...

This listing (330140013306) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number.
If the listing was removed by eBay, consider it cancelled. Note: Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay.

Ebay are not really going to say "Removed as it was dodgy - but we caught this one before the money changed hands"

I know that's how the normal eBay auction or BIN listings work, just thought that there was a chance it might be diffferent as it was a classified ad instead.

Remember, no feedback or 'bidding' takes place so once an item has been sold the buyer may not want it shown any more. I am speculating though as no one knows the reason.
