Hi, does anyone have a microfiche parts diagram showing the breather pipe system on the e55k engine please?

Does anyone know if MB recommend a mileage interval where this should be changed.

Is this the one or am I looking in the wrong area?

I'm not sure I follow re changing intervals.

The Pipes can get blocked Alx, They are a serviceable item on the Turbo Volvo's ive had in the past. Just want to have a look on the 55 and make sure its all in good order.

Is that a m113k lump Bob?

Yes it should be a M113.990

You don't change them, you clean them ;)

Just remove yours and inspect. I bet they are fine. What made you think they are blocked anyway?

Also, the first picture is not of M113K (mine is )

Thanks bob that would be excellent , no rush i'm going tobe cleaning up the other rocker cover in the next few wks thought id have a look then, so no rush :thumb:

Gav, don't waste your money mate the whole set is about £50. I replaced all mine about a year ago and they where not blocked at all.

What actually can block and only requires a a quick clean out is the connector where the breather pipes fit on.

I'm referring to the connector at the rocker cover breather sections. The connector makes the hole look big but in fact it actually narrows down to the size of a thick pin. No I'm not kidding and this can become blocked.

The issue is to clean it properly you will need to remove the breather rocker cover part, clean and then reseal.

Sorry, I thought the picture I posted was enough. What do you need out of the EPC? Mine works.

If it's only £50 bud i may as well do it, the volvo one was around £120, Thanks for the heads up on the rocker cover :) is it both sides?

Non taken buddy.

There's no valve. Vacuum sucks the gases and feeds them back in to the intake. What you see in my picture is what it is: parts 143 and 137. 143 is made of a few segments but essentially is a rubber hose that plugs into the throttle body. 137 is a high pressure hose and connects to the air box.

Unless yours are missing or damaged I don't see any reason for replacement. It's your money but it's like replacing a wheel well lining because it has dirt on it.

Yes both sides. Iirc it can in two parts. One was a pipe on its own and the other was for both sides with the rubber throttle fitted on the middle section.

Personally I would check them first for splits or collapsing. Remember our breather system is not like that on turbo lumps ie no valve to worry about.

Sounds like a good excuse then to take the rocker cover's off and give them a fresh coat of paint an clean up.

Thanks buddy:thumb:
