i never liked audi to be honest but yeah i really like the 211 its huge boot is great the extra seats are handy and im really suprised with the 1.8 kompressor engine its suprisingly quick just wish it was a bit better on fuel

I had one with the 1.8 petrol engine , I did find the same , quick enough I did manage 130 mph but a pig on petrol only getting 300 miles on a tank . I also had major engine problems with mine , cam chain stretched , HG went then balancer shafts sized .

thanks for giving me confidence lol was it high mileage i doubt its the same kind of problem but my astravan had a 1.3 cdti engine they were bad for streching chains but apparently it is cause of doing stop start journeys not lubing the chain engough thats what vauxhall said anyway

The chain can stretch at as little as 40k on the M271 engine , mine was at 120 and on its second chain , id get the chain changed on the car if your gonna keep it . When they stretch they can damage the sprockets ( 700 euro each ) and even bend valves , I was luckly there mine only jumped two teeth and didnt damage valves just the sprockets .

i will look at getting it changed then as its on 109000 i know its got full mb service history from the stamps but only a few invoices so havent got a clue if its been done

hi everyone
sorry havent been on in a while had quite a few peoblems to sort had the ballast go in my headlight and just had to change the front springs which is why im adding to this thread I found a power drain while I was changing the springs the coolant circulation pump the car was on the ramp 3 hours and did not shut off could just hear it whirring away while I was in the wheel arch does anyone know what controls it or if it has a relay it might be jammed thanks
