Hi all

ABS light on my W211 2003 Estate is on , changed sensor and reset but it came back.

I presume the Impulse ring is shot.

I ordered a replacement , but would like some advice in regards to Airmatic bellows , do they need to be deflated or disconnected from bottom wishbone in order to remove the CV joint from the hub and to avoid damage to the air spring?

Cheers

Yeah you can either deflate them via diagnostic computer or just undo pipe union an let it bleed

I've replaced a rear impulse ring on my s211 and didn't need to detach the air spring from the lower wishbone.

It is a massive pita job though. As well as a whole bunch of rusty bolts in awkward places, the actual abs sensor had seized into to the hub and needed to be drilled out and replaced.

I seem to remember a similar issue with removing the parking brake cable before removing the hub.

Not a fun job to do on jack stands. If you have access to a lift, it would make the job significantly easier.

Good luck!
