W211 Reversing Rear Camera Options ? (Handle / Number Plate Light / Number Plate Surround)

Found out why the camera had stopped working.

When removing the rear boot trim must have put too much strain on it as I'd had it off and on quite a few times.

Probably found the source of the water getting in too.
The clip next to where I put the camera has not been going all the way into boot hole and has been bent back.
There is also a small bit out of the seal too so it's likely water has been dripping down here and going in through the hole in the boot lid so not been getting in via the camera hole which is logical as the camera hole is underneath and horizontal.

Have an excuse to get a facelift rear boot panel now. :)

Thanks again everyone for your input, I got a mirror reversing camera fitted today. Gbp 350. Angle not perfect as the camera had to be fitted off centre, but I'm happy and it is much cheaper than the gbp 2.5k for a head unit upgrade. View attachment 91609
That is just the sort of thng I am looking for. Could you provide a little more detail please? I noted the camera that you used.

New camera location on one of the number plate lights.

Working very well (had to solder wires back in) and no leaks so far in the boot.

Bugger, water in the boot today.

Thank heavens I've not put all the trim back in yet.

Think I need to replace the lower boot lid trim panel and leave the camera out for a good bit.
