W211 Suspension Collapse

Strange how the corrosion seems to have gone quite deep.

On the W210 it was the perches that failed as well as springs.

Both my front springs broke like yours but unlike yours this does not lead to collapse on the 210, you just hit ( in my case ) the steel sump guard as you go over ramps etc.and eventually do a visual check and discover the reason.
 
it would be interesting to see what mine are like. December 2005 with only 28k on it.
 
On 211s it is invariably that bottom turn that goes. Yours seems to have held up a lot better than mine, which had virtually no corrosion 'ingress' at all at the fissure. Mind you, in my case at least, that straight-6 CDI with quite a few options up front must do little to help...
