W211 Toliman alloys. Anybody know what they weigh?

Seeing as you have both, are you thinking of keeping the 7" wide wheels to save weight?

Well, I have to collect the 7.5 Toliman's, I have the original 7 x16 Sport alloys and I'm now thinking of getting 7'' wide Tolimans purely for weight saving as I'll be happy with 205's.

Out of curiosity as I have a spare set of EVOI alloys I weighed one, 9.3Kg. So, that's a no go as they would defeat the object and it would also mean using wider tyres, more weigh.

Your really only gaining the option of fitting a wider tire, though at 16" it isn't going to matter that much.

Simon, considering I'm not interested in fitting anything larger than 16'' alloys on the W202, do you think there's any advantage of fitting the W211 Tolimans (7.5x16 et42) I bought? What would I really gain over buying a set of W208 Tolimans (7x16 et37) instead?

what is the oem off set for the w202 wheel set up?

in that case, I would fit the 7 x 16 et37, retaining the same inner clearance and inside wheel position (assuming the current wheels are also 7" wide).

Good question. I don't know, as I find tyre choice so difficult and subjective.

I'm sort of keen on trying Vredesteins as a Ford chassis engineer highly recommended them to me. I wouldn't say no to the Dunlop Sport BluResponse, they absolutely transformed the little 'Ricer'. But would happily go with either of your suggestions, always liked (don't know why) the Yoko's. I've got a set of Bridgestones that have 5mm on them so I suppose I'll use them initially.

Your choice or favourite? Bear in mind we're not talking about fitting them to a rocketship and 16's too.

The bridgestones are a very good road tyre, stiff sidewalls which I like. I'd go with the yoko's if your after a sticky tyre for hard use.
