Had a good drive for an hour. But early in the morning (lights on heating radio ect) went to start this morning would it f*$%. Checked with the comand in its special mode and its saying that the battery voltage is 11.65v. I tried to jump off another car but no go. Lights start and turn the key dash comes on but no light dimming when turning the key to start engine. Any ideas...
Thanks

Gear selection inhibitor, spare key, check all the fiuses in the underbonnet fuse box.?

Thanks for the reply.
Checked everything. Apart from the gear selector. How do you check that .

That is basically dead - 11.9V is fully discharged.

You may have some other issue associated with the low battery voltage, but be aware that you will need very hefty cables to jump start a 6 litre V12 ... something like 35mm diameter. Thinner ones will not be able to pass enough current, causing the voltage to drop.

Looks like the battery is dead.
But I do have thick Cables (don't know size) putting these on with an other car running produces (in comand) 13.35v but still no start. Is there some stupid gizmo with MB that if the car detects not enough voltage then it will not start at all, unlike how it used to be with are car just clicking because it did not have enough juice.

I had a similar situation earlier this year, with my 2000 W215, when a battery drain, caused by a faulty seat controller, was draining my battery to the same levels. Heavy cables and another car didn't do the trick. The MobiloLife man was able to get it started with his booster pack. Best call them if your MobiloLife warranty is valid.

Thanks I will give a new battery a try. I am fairly sure this one is dead as its the original. 6 years not bad.:rolleyes:

:bannana::bannana::bannana::bannana::bannana:Only gone and fixed it.:bannana::bannana::bannana::bannana::bannana::bannana:
It was the battery partly (showing bad voltage).
But also the selector had come off the shift into the gear box. So it was showing park on the selector but the box was in reverse. So it would not start no matter what I did with the battery (jumping ect). I know the old mechanic I used to use changed the selector as it developed a fault. I have not used him for a few services as I thought he was no good, this proves it as there was a lot of missing screws and over tightened screw that had bust some of the plastic.
Moral of the story. If only I had a star machine then I would do all the mechanics my self as only if you read WIS for each disassemble can you do a good job.
Any way Happy New Year:)

ha ha ha this reminds me of when i worked at bolton and we had a car that wouldnt start. Same situation, lever showing park but car physically in drive. Unfortunately the chap at bolton used the star machine to *force* start the car and ran into the workshop office wall.
D'OH
