My son noticed the cigarette lighter was not working in my car so he thought it was a fuse so he went under the bonnet and pulled some fuses out to check them now the car will not tick over and fault reading Epc go to workshop any one got any ideas ?

Hello Brian,, this is something that I have not heard of,,could it be that some fuses have gone back into the incorect sockets and some may have blown owing to the incorrect ratings

2001 320 cdi

I have been through the whole list but I cant find anything for this.

What we always do on these odd faults is to disconnect battery (bateries) for 5 mins and see if the fault clears.
Sorry thats all I have on this one

What is the exact text of the error message? In the rear of the manual is a list of all error messages with an explanation and, where possible, a remedy.

I guess it says something like "Electronic Power Control - Visit workshop". It would be an issue that can only be solved at a workshop and the manual would not explain any resolution then.

I've seen this referred from multiple reasons, injector issue, injector connector loose, wiring issues elsewhere, high pressure pump issue (too low max pressure, car does not run specifically at full throttle), MAF also mentioned...

Thats exactly what it say's "Electronic Power Control - Visit workshop". Why though? the engine was switched off and keys out of ignition. All very strange. Thanks for the comments guys.

It is possible that there is a genuine problem, but it seems an unlikely coincidence that it happened immediately after fiddling around with the fuses. Television already suggested this link and I really think you need to go back and check all the fuses that have been disturbed carefully. If that does not yield any results, get it to a garage for diagnostics and, if needed, repairs.

The car does I believe have the split charge that can give problems. But I have never known this to affect the running
