W221 S500 low miles, designo interior

If I was going to buy a car from this trader, I'd go for this lovely S65 AMG they have for sale

The last owner bought it in 2014 when it had 45k on the clock. It's nice to see it's been used. Apart from the front discs that look like they're worn, the rest of the car looks immaculate still

Looks like a nice car but too many miles really for most? Would definitely need some brave pills for that one :)

£178k when new, 14 years ago.... Ooh, i need to sit down

Phew, and "we" laugh when JaaGuar announces that £150k is the price of a new Jaag in 2026

The challenge: how and where to enjoy all that power.

And it is "Embassy black," and there are other S65's around for the same money on half the mileage.

£25k: that's Dacia Duster money. Although a new Duster will depreciate MUCH faster.

The mileage might put a few people off but honestly, 120k for a V12 engine is nothing, especially if it's been looked after properly which this one seems to be as it's been serviced at Mercedes all it's life.
When I was in the market for an S65, I wanted one that had done some miles so I could enjoy it and not worry about adding more miles to the car. This is a weakness of mine, whenever I buy a car, I tend to pay too much attention to the mileage and it has ruined the experience of owning something nice. I'm still working on this :D

Oh, there are always places you can enjoy the power of this beast! :D
Since I bought my first S class, S600 and then the S65AMG, I have had the opportunity to use the cars to their potential. Germany [ autobhan ] would be a nice place to visit with this beast, I maxed out the S600 a few times on the autobhan. The S65 was indicating 180mph and it still had more to give. Here in UK, it's a bit hard to use all it's power but for me one of the reasons why I got an S65 was purely for the fact that it had the biggest engine you could get in one of these cars. They just feel very special.
Very expensive cars to own as fuel, tax and any parts can cost but if maintained properly, they don't give much problems. The W221 S63 or S65 AMG will always hold a special place in my heart and I hope I will always have at least one S class in my garage, even just to look at it 🤣

I think technically speaking the earlier S63 (6.2 M156) has the biggest engine - the S65 although a V12 is less than 6 litres ;)

Regards mileage, 120k isn’t nothing IMHO. Sure some engines can cover higher mileage but the rest of the car will all have had commensurate wear and tear at this point - suspension, steering, interior etc. And it will definitely affect the value and future saleability IMHO.

It does present very well for the mileage though :)

How often do you see a one owner, full MB history S500 on 20k miles up for £15k? Even a full Embassy / Carriage Trade black one.

But it’s not a question of whether it appeals to everyone, my point was that it’s a well maintained low mileage high spec car.

My wife will explain that it’s not for me because of the length of the car . She has the same problem with the Contis and the new Jaaag.

so I’m stuck with a boring, low mileage non-black or silver short car that won’t depreciate at all. But I’ll cope

Didn't spot those.....great way to destroy your paint when they break free.

Yes, technically speaking the M156 is the biggest cc but I meant the S65 is considered the most powerful and the biggest S class you can get. After all, it does have 4 extra cylinders and two turbos :D

At just under 120k miles, I would think many parts on this S65 would have been changed already.... From my experience, I have found that cars with mileage between 60k - 80k have more things that need changing compare to a 100k+ miles car.
I fully agree that the mileage does effect the value and future saleability. Mileage will always be king. If you want to actually drive a V12 BiTurbo and not worry about adding more miles then a higher mileage example would be a better option to buy imo, that's why I think this black one would be a great car to own.
£25K is not a small amount of money to spend on a car but considering what you get and how much this car was new, it seems like a good deal imho. Especially when you look at a Toyota Prius that can easily do 350k miles and it only has a 1.5 petrol engine, I'm sure a V12 would be able to handle the miles easier

Tis a peach. Thick history file, last owner had it for a decade and serviced to time not miles. 2k miles a year. Has never had an MoT advisory. No rust underneath.

Agreed about the rim guards but doubt that I’d remove them until they get damaged.

So it’s back to a two seater for running about and an estate when I need the extra space

Need more pics! :)

What’s the mileage? Sounds very low from the above 😎

Looks liks a 2.7 ( M96.25). Awesome car
