W245 - B180 - Glow plug q

So the glow plug light comes on on the dash when you advance to the II position on the ignition signifying it's heating, and goes out when the heating cycle is complete.

What does it mean if it then comes on after you have started the engine and stays on for 30 seconds to a minute of driving before going out again?

I can't find any wisdom in the books, online or printed...

Not sure but think that it indicates a failed glowplug(s).

Yes it does indicate a Glow-Plug fault. I've just had all 4 done as a result of something else breaking and so can confirm that it is a glow-plug fault, and that new ones have stopped the lamp coming back on and then staying on for 30 seconds or so.

Expensive job though
