Hi all,
I am new in this forum and I need a help.

I have fitted a new battery and it was diagnosed that it's charge rate is low but when jump start it cannot start until you push to start.

It does that in the mornings but once pushed to start it can start on its own.

Could it be a problem with the starter motor ?

Richard

Perhaps there is an issue with current drain overnight?

Or an issue with the glow plugs or with the glow plug relay?

It's a petrol engine. I touched the starter motor wires then it starts normally. After driving and parking at Grace he resort it rained and it never want to start again.
So this morning I will check the starter connections again and I will let you know.

Might be starter soloind sticking.try tapping with a small hammer.

You might have a combination of faults.
1. you say your alternator charging is low- you should address that

2. you might have a problem with the starter motor- unfortunately these are very inaccessible on your vehicle.

3. Does your vehicle have stop /start system [post 2008] fitted?

You have fitted a new battery already - which I assume means you were having starting problems before. If the alternator isn't charging then your new battery will flatten very quickly. That would be my first thing to check on my list. Your alternator and battery are the 2 components of primary importance in any car's electrical system.
Probably best to get the car checked by a car electrical specialist.

I found the solenoid terminal was loose and I tightend it thought it was a bit hectic to reach there.
I loosen the whole engine brackets so I can reach the starter from beneath the car so I tightened the terminals now it can start.
Thanks for your help. Cheers
