W639 Viano - help needed - interior Cabin Temp sensor removal

Can anyone help me? I’m replacing the interior cabin temperature sensor (between gearstick and steering wheel behind the dash).

I’m trying to work out how it’s attached to the back of the dash, as I don’t want to break any clips. I’ve taken the stereo out and there seems to be two plastic pins that the sensor slot onto - akin to an interference/friction fitting.

Has anyone done this before - thanks in advance!

Mine fell out some time ago. Only known to me as I was feeling around for cabling to the head unit, and it was hanging.
It just pushed it in to the 2 clips easily. I assume it would come out fairly easy also.

Thks m80 for the reply. SOLVED. The new part comes pre-assembled as a sensor and plastic housing. Only the sensor needed, leave the housing mounted on the back of the dash. 4 small plastic spring clips separates the Sensor - only need to do two and can be done with the fingers. Mine was definitely broken - thermistor missing! See pics

How did you know the sensor had failed - what were the symptoms?
So I can add it to my list of things to worry about/look out for
