I have a SRS on my Dash, I have bought a Launch Creader VIII, in the hope it would help. The fault was the yellow plug under the Passenger seat had come undone, it is now fixed, and the fault has changed from current to stored.
But I cannot get the fault code deleted!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Nickyharron.
When I first got my 639 I removed the seats to give them a really thorough clean.
I used my Vito with the passenger seats removed.
My SRS light lit, & I couldn't find any way to resolve it myself.
In the end I took it to an independant Merc specialist, who plugged it into their STAR computer & charged me £ 45 to switch it off. :(

Incidentally, I'm not sure if they didn't switch off something else at the same time.: I seem to recall a seat belt reminder/warning operating before they reset my SRS. There is no seat belt warning now.!
Is there an alert on yours please (or was I imagining remembering it).??

Reviving an old thread. Can the seat belt warning be switched off? Mine has stopped working and now the SRS light has come on. It's the female seat belt connector. If you move the wires about under the connector the SRS light goes off but comes back on as soon as you let go of the wire.
The local dealer wants £95 to look at the problem (not fix it)

It's a 2013 Vito 639

I used iCarsoft V2 to extinguish mine recently after removing the centre console.

I had it but used my Star machine to turn it off. It depends whether u are reconnect it or not but you can trick the system by using a 3 ohm resistor then turning the light out!!

I had a similar issue on my Viano W639 whereby the seat belt wasn't detected when it was plugged in. I removed the clasp and unplugged the (yellow) connector under the seat. I then opened it up and then used a multimeter to do a continuity test. I worked out that there is a (470 ohm) resistor in series with a micro switch. Going from memory the SRS unit expects to see 470 ohms resistance with no belt inserted and a short circuit when inserted. If either wire is broken then the SRS unit detects the O/C and throws an error.

To fix it I found that the break was just below the clasp so I cut the broken section out and soldered the wire inside the plastic shroud. I tested, re-assembled and all was well. The same happened to the passenger seat so I did the same thing which also worked.

If you are not bothered about correct operation then cut the wire just after the plug under the seat and connect the two wires, that will shut it up (but the error might not clear itself, you may need it clearing).

Best of luck...

For the SRS fix , I just want to confirm. if I cant find the break on the seat belt connector , under the seat, leave the plugs connected but after the one that goes to the seat belt cut it and join the 2 wires ?

Replaced the drivers side seat belt buckle and the problems is solved .Warning lights out and everything working again as it should. £35 part.
