Hi all, I'm a newbie here, I've got a lwb sprinter 06 311 cdi. We've been getting a noise which sounds like a prop bearing loudest in first and in reverse. It sounds like "wubwubwubwub" and comes from the gearbox/prop but definitely sounds like it's under the cab. is there anything I should be looking for straight away?
The carrier bearings seem to stay relatively cool, and I can't see anything obviously wrong under there.
When pulling away we get a prop "dong" and sometimes when accelerating away too.
