Hi ,

Anyone got a bike carrier for a 2008 Vito double door ??

Regards

Lee

Whereabouts in the country are you? I have a highly adjustable you could try if you're close enough.

Cornwall, do you have a brand name ? not much luck on google to find one that will fit

I'll try and get into the back of the garage tomorrow………..only used twice years ago. When (if) I find it, I'll offer it up to mine and let you know how it sits………..if it works, I'll try a couple of pictures.

Cheers , your a star

I can't remember where I bought it and the maker's label has fallen off. You will see from the photos that each arm is unlocked by way of a cam lever and in 'hinge' there are toothed cups that interlock.
I only 'threw' it on for a demo…….had I been taking it out, I would have put the centre bar lower so it rested where the door handle is and I would have found somewhere underneath (not the bumper) to attach the bottom straps. That way, when the top and bottom are cinched tighter, it is very secure, leaving the side or middle set of straps to lock the whole thing in place.
Have used it three, maybe four times on two different vehicles and found no issue with stability and it didn't damage anything either. This one has retainers for three bikes with a 45kg max weight limit.
Hope this helps with your search……….
I am trying to clear my garage out so if you think it would be suitable, call it £5 (for packaging and fuel) plus postage(no idea how much that would be). It weighs about 3kg, I would say.

Sorry for the late reply , do you think it will fit a double rear door ??

Have you got rear wipers? It MAY fit if you have. If you don't, pretty sure (99.9%) it will fit.

no wipers , so its all clean at the back. Just thinking if i need access to the rear then i wont be able to use any of the doors until the bikes and rack are off

Quite right………the only alternative is a tow bar mounted version that tilts (but will it tilt back enough?) or roof mounting. Don't know if your bikes are exotic but the simplest way round that would be a bolt on roof rack…………quite cheap (see Ebay), could lay bikes flat or buy cycle mounts for upright carrying.
